Preschool, Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd grade classes are each an hour long combo class where young dancers are taught the basics of dance movement in the two most foundational styles: ballet and tap. (taught by Ms. Kasie)
The 3rd & 4th Grade classes, will begin to dive deeper into ballet and tap foundations and technique, as well as begin working on more complex aspects, and also will begin some jazz dance basics. (taught by Ms. Kasie)
5th-7th & 8th-12th Ballet continues to delve into the technical aspects of ballet, and works on engraining good technique, which is essential to ensure safety and success in not just ballet, but all other styles! (taught by Ms. Kasie)
5th-7th & 8th-12th Tap, dedicates more time to this intricate style, which will really help dancers progress in their tap skills and coordination! (taught by Ms. Kasie)
5th-7th & 8th-12th Jazz will cover a wide variety of jazz concepts and tricks, from isolations and progressions to leaps and turns. (taught by Ms. Kasie)
Pointé is extension of ballet, where dancers are trained to dance in toe shoes, or pointé shoes. Because beginning pointé training too early, before the dancer’s body and technical understanding of ballet is developed enough can cause injury, it is very important that dancers do not try pointé work until directed to do so by their teacher. Pointé is by invitation only. Dancers taking pointé must also be taking either the 5th-7th grade ballet or 8th-12th Ballet class. (taught by Ms. Kasie)
Musical Theatre 1 & 2 (Musical theatre 1 for 1st-4th Grade, Musical Theatre 2 for 5th Grade and up) will focus on fusing emotions, facial expressions, and story telling with dance technique to portray a more theatrical style of dancing. (taught by Mr. Demetri)
Hip Hop 1 & 2 (Hip Hop 1 for 1st-4th grade, Hip Hop 2 for 5th grade and up) Dancers in this class will be exploring the different styles and techniques of urban dance, and hip hop, including gliding, tutting, isolations, and some break dancing. Dancers should wear comfortable, non-distracting clothing that covers the knees (such as tights, leggings, or sweatpants that do not touch the floor). Girls should have hair pulled into a pony or similar style. No down hair permitted. (taught by Mr. Demetri)
Acro 1 & 2 (Acro 1 for 1st-4th grade, Acro 2 for 5th grade and up) uses the Acrobatic Arts curriculum (a renowned Acro program in the dance community) to ensure safe practices while beginning Acro training. (taught by Miss Sophie)
Technique 1 & 2 (technique 1 for 1st-4th grade, technique 2 for 5th grade and up) is a class dedicated to the intricate and foundational building blocks that make up most dance styles. Strong technique supports safety, dance growth, and is something no professional dancer is without. This is the root of dance. (taught by Ms. Angela)
